Help us to treat your Leather
& Suede better!
When you take your garments to our drycleaner tell our sales representative about:
1. Any stains that are on the garment and any actions you may have taken to remove the stains.
2. Any special concerns you may have about buttons, broken zippers, tears, etc.
3. Point out any issues of wear and tear you have about the garment. Advise of any repair needs.
4. Advise with instruction if the garment is “Repair only” or “Do not clean”
One of the real understandings of leather & suede is that they need to be professionally cleaned which includes refinishing its color tint. All leather garments lose part of their dye when they are professionally cleaned since the dyes in leather & suede is not colorfast. Restoring the garment's color is part of the cleaning process. However, some leather tints are hard to match and oxidization on suede, in some cases, can be impossible to restore completely. Another aspect of the difficulties in leather & suede cleaning is that natural “flaws” in the hide may become more pronounced in the cleaning process, such as scars and insects bite (on the live animal), belly wrinkles and blood veins. Fulfilling customer expectations is the key to creating happy customer relations.
·
Spray protect
your new leather garments to give them more long lasting enjoyment.
·
Hang your
jackets and coats on wide shouldered hangers to protect the
shoulders from stretching.
·
Leather garments
should be hung in a dark closet, when not in use, to keep from
oxidizing, which is a chemical change in the dye.
·
The longer
stains are left in garments the harder they are to remove and
irreparable damage may occur, such as shrinkage or puckering, and
surface damage as with sugar stains.
·
Some home style
cleaners cannot be used on naked or light colored leathers, as oil
based products will leave dark marks.
What is Drycleaning?
Step 1: Identification and Inspection. When you leave garments for cleaning they are inspected and identified with a tag which stays with the garment until it is returned to you.
Step 2: Spotting and stain removal. Our trained drycleaner skillfully removes spots and stains in conjunction with a number of specialized solutions.
Step 3: Sorting. Garments are sorted for cleaning by category and color with consideration being given to the manufacturers recommended care label instructions.
Step 4: Drycleaning. Garments are then drycleaned using a special internationally standard clear solution which removes dirt and grease safely from the most delicate and sensitive fabrics.
Step 5: Drying. Garments are dried using temperatures appropriate to the type of garment and in conjunction with any recommendation from the manufacturer's care label instructions.
Step 6: Pressing and Finishing. Garments are pressed to give those crisp clear pleats and creases that signify a dry-cleaned garment. Garments are steam formed to restore body and shape and remove wrinkles.
Step 7: Final inspection and packaging. Garments are given a final inspection and prepared for collection.
